The role

Drivers are responsible for the safe transport and delivery of temperature controlled food and related goods from the catering facility to the aircraft.

 

Role Responsibilities:

  • Work safely at all times, insuring your own safety and the safety of your colleagues. Drive safely on airport property and public roads, adhering to specified rules, regulations and specific customer guidelines
  • Deliver temperature controlled food and related goods to the aircraft via dnata vehicles
  • Conducting periodic vehicle checks to ensure they are serviceable and safe to drive. Insuring that all company vehicles are clean and refueled when required
  • Reporting any faults / issues of the vehicles to the respective person
  • Monitor deliveries for accuracy and security, delivering and collecting of any written communications or any items from / to contacts outside of the Company
  • Manually load and unload galley equipment and goods onto and off of trucks and aircraft.
  • Professionally interact with and provide superior customer service to onboard airline representatives and customers
  • Assist in other non-driving related tasks during down-time, as directed by management.
  • Maintain a valid drivers and RAIC at all times, as well as abide by all road laws and safety operating procedures

This role involves shift work (days/afternoons/nights), weekends and holidays. Overtime maybe required based on operational and seasonal needs.
This role involves working outdoors in variable weather conditions.

Applicants must:

  • Hold a current driver's license
  • Hold a current Class 5 license or Class 3 CDL
  • Be able to safely manually handle (lift) loads of up to 50 lbs
  • Have the right to work and reside in BC, Canada
  • Hold a current Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC) OR be eligible for RAIC
  • Previous experience driving aircraft catering vehicles is highly advantageous
  • Previous experience driving in an airside / airport environment is highly advantageous
